ABOUT

I'm Cari, a multi-media artist and graphic designer from Northern Virginia. I recently graduated from Florida International University with my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design with a minor in Art History.

I grew up painting, crafting, drawing, doing summer art courses at The Corcoran Gallery in dc, learning Photoshop in the mid 90s, and making mock advertisements for fun. My dad is an artist, so I was exposed to a lot of contemporary and modern art growing up. His love of modern architecture and furniture design was a big influence for me, and because he works in the magazine publishing business, I was creating my own magazines to hand out in grade school. Both my brother and I spent hours drawing together in our free time.

These days, I spend a great deal of personal time researching art of past and present, trends in design, fashion, styling, photography, fine arts. I love delving into design culture and history. I posses a strong & intuitive understanding of color, materials & texture, and design principles, but I love to push creative boundaries and create out-of-the-box ideas.
